Kingdubby update
Two weeks have almost passed since the release of Kingdubby beta 1 and beta 2. Kingdubby, as you might know, is our freeware audio delay unit plug-in that’s just perfect for dub echoes. There were far over 2000 downloads of the plugin and fortunately very few bug reports
You can grab it here:
System requirements:
- Intel or PowerPC Macintosh;
- Mac OS X v 10.4.11 or above;
- AudioUnit host application.
The original plan was to release beta 3 last saturday, but only one bug would have justified releasing beta 3 so quickly. MacOS X 10.4.11 users might have some G.U.I. “tooltip” refressh issue, but that was quite easy to fix. I am going to postpone the release of beta until some time next week.
Carbon G.U.I. or not Carbon G.U.I.?
That’s the question. The most frequent feedback we received is: “I get no cool user interface in <Live, DP, …> is it normal?”. In a word the answer is yes, as we originally decided to use Cocoa for the user interface (which is in the long run the only future-proof solution).
Given the number of user asking for this “feature”, and given that earlier versions used Carbon for the user interface, we might re-implement it, if that does not delay the development of the VST version (which will probably require us to code some more Carbon anyway).
Thanks for your support

i’m totally addicted to king tubby, and i am so pleased that it works on my new system and in my ableton live, although i do miss the lovely graphics in ableton.

i use king tubby more than many other plug-ins that i keep having to pay for upgrades for.
keep up the good work!
